Summer Mountain Top Wedding

Kat & Down | Waterville Valley Resort, Waterville Valley, NH

A couple standing under a wooden arch, gazing at each other lovingly, with a bouquet of wildflowers in the woman's arms and a scenic mountainous background.

The design for Kat & Dow’s wedding was a mid-summer wildflower vibe set on the mountain top of Waterville Valley Resort in New Hampshire. We all had dreams of a beautiful sunny day on the mountaintop, Mother nature had other plans in mind that day. That morning the forecasts were calling for a thunderstorm to sweep in just as the couple would say “I do”.

Some last minute planning, moved the ceremony and reception to an indoors location at the base of the mountain. Fortunately, the ski lodge design with large picture windows still allowed for beautiful mountain views. The large doors opened up for the reception to have a open air feel for guests. Weather had no impact on the smiles and love from family and friends on this special day. The colorful wildflower vibe help to brighten the otherwise dark sky.

Meadow style arrangements welcomed guests into the large open space.

Guests were seated at round tables that felt as though a garden was growing out of the middle of the table. The golds and purples set the summer tone against a bright green ski hill visible in the background.

Ceremony Meadows

The plan called for a wedding arbor but the change in location shifted the hanging installations to a beautiful ground meadow that served as a backdrop for the couple to exchange their vows. The result was a magical garden feel that circled the couple as they said “I do”.

I can also say thank you to this beautiful couple for letting us be a part of their magical day. Wishing them years of bright and sunny days ahead!
