A Time of Reflection

As a flower farmer and floral designer, I love the summer season with abundant blooms and sweet smells in the garden. By the time we come to this holiday season, a layer of white snow covers the fields where frozen seed pods and winterberry peak from under a blanket of newly fallen snow. For us this is a season to pause and reflect on the year.

I am not alone in the belief that there is something magical about the Christmas season. It is a time of enchantment and wonder, where they waning daylight gives way to twinkling lights that illuminate vintage glass ornaments and shiny brass bells. The fireplace roars offering warmth from the chilly nights and warm blankets offer a cozy place to snuggle with loved ones. It is here that I take time to pause and look back on the year.

We have recently completed our wreath making workshops with warm friendly clients. Some we have known for years and find ourselves blessed to see year after year. Others are new friends just discovering our magical New England hide-a-way.
